Safe..finally safe.

Gasping as Tao Village entered his sight, Nhee huffed and flopped down on the grass, entirely spent. He was out of practice with running, usually doing endurance training with Kekliss whenever they had time. With the current events though there hadn’t been enough time and now..now she was gone.

No, he couldn’t think like that; she was going to come back. All he had to do was be patient and wait like she told him to. If she believed that then he would too. He trusted her enough –and they had been through enough together-, that if she told him to do something he would act without hesitation.

Coming out of her thoughts as almost silent wing beats became known in his range of hearing, the Skitty shifted to one side slightly as the newest member of their Team, a Hoothoot named Yorik, landed beside him. They were a curious individual, both mysterious and yet fascinating at the same time in the short time they had known each other.

The most interesting aspect about this Pokemon is that they never spoke, mainly using their psychic powers to communicate with others. They were also a master at being silent in coming and going places, usually vanishing without a trace to appear somewhere else entirely without a Pokemon knowing.

“Hello Nhee” The Hoothoot said casually, as if this conversation held no importance. Never to the point, they always seem to flit about a subject. It was sort of like pulling fangs, but even after they had been pulled, the information was still hard to get. “Did you enjoy your adventure?”

“Yes” He replied in the same relaxed manner before settling his head back on those small paws “There were no casualties and we each acquired some lava stones.”

“Wonderful. You must be very pleased.” Yorik crooned before becoming somewhat distracted by a Pokemon Nhee didn’t know. Not that he minded, for it gave his burning paws a chance to rest a bit. He would have loved a nap, but something told him there would be time for that later.

“Nhee.” Yorik motioned to the Skitty after a few moments of silent chatter with the Pokemon who had come up to the pair “This problem requires your attention, if you do not mind.”

“Certainly” he replied with a bit of tired eagerness, clambering to those growing paws before following after the retreating pair “If you do not mind me saying, I do hope we will have a bit of time to rest after words.”

If he knew what was coming next, Nhee would have not been so cheerful.

“Excuse me?”

The Pokemon shrank back slightly from having the Skitty face so close to their own; for such a small Pokemon he could have a very powerful effect. Although the waves on anger radiating off him at the moment weren’t helping the situation, especially since it seemed he had forgotten what Rogues were needed for.

“We’re kicking the Merchant Leaders out and if you don’t like it, you can go with the others and keep Sandy distracted. Just don’t be such a child about it, geeze.”

“Nhee, please.” Yorik seemed to murmur from their position nearby. They were in charge to make sure that Sandy kept busy since she was the one easiest to distract “There is no need for such vehemence.”

The Skitty’s normally calm tail lashed about somewhat furious manner while an angry look became clear on his features. He certainly wasn’t as pleased now and with the thrill of adventure still pounding in his veins, such a plan seemed..well, not so interesting.

His voice seemed to come out in a hiss as he faced his o so calm partner, trying his best to keep his temper controlled so that everyone else in the group could continue on with the plan. There was no reason for him to get mad just because the mission was to his liking, although there had to be some explanation as to why they were tossing the Merchant Leaders out.

“I cannot believe you would go along with such a plan Yorik. You did not even have the decency to ask them what they thought they were doing, evicting others from their rightful home?”

“No” Yorik replied after a few moments of what seemed deep though, their sleepy eyes seeming sharp as they turned to look at the pink and cream coloured Pokemon “Because they did not have the decency to tell.”

His face turning entirely red with anger a few seconds later, Nhee suddenly turned about a few times before bending low to the ground while touching his forehead to the dirt. His thoughts were in turmoil; this was wrong and everyone knew it! The Merchant Leaders hadn’t done anything wrong had they?

After a few moments the Skitty took a breath to sit upwards, slightly surprised but not so much that the Hoothoot was still there, watching him with those calm eyes. If he didn’t know any better, Yorik had smiled slightly..or maybe it was just a trick of the light.

“All right. Tell me the plan.”

Later on while watching the “Merchant” Teams get dressed into their roles, Nhee felt a twinge of regret at the fact that they were throwing out the Merchant Leaders from their rightful abode. He would be furious if someone tried to think about tossing his Team out of their base, but at least they were still actually living in their house.

Shaking those thoughts from his head the Skitty concentrated on keeping Sandy entertained, which was a bit too simple from the fact that she seemed elated that Pokemon were willing to play what she wanted.

The only other Pokemon Sandy played with was Maple and that was sometimes a bit too much for her, considering all the Stunky wanted to play was “Ponyta”. The prospect of new Pokemon was refreshing and they started with a game of tag, which was easier for some than others.

While everyone else played Nhee kept watch for the “removal” of the Merchant Leaders in a patch of tall grass nearby the hut, where he would have the perfect view

It seemed like forever before a panicked Shroomsworth ran out of the Merchants hut followed by Malt, each of them going their own separate ways while the “Merchant Teams” who had caused such a panic made their exits through the windows, giggling all the while.

Signaling to Yorik that the Leaders had left their huts, Nhee watched as the flying type suddenly took to the skies, weaving their way towards a somewhat far away place. Confused, the Skitty watched the fast fading Pokemon before remembering that there was yet another mission to do and took off after his partner, calling their name to no avail.

Putting a burst of speed into their already battered paws, Nhee’s heart hammered hard in his chest as he tried to keep up with the Hoothoot, his breath coming out in harsh pants. Running really wasn’t his style, but..

If there was anything he hated most in the world, it was to be left behind by the ones he trusted most.
